Stagnation in the Service Sector The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the seasonally adjusted confidence indices for the February 2026 period.
According to the data, the service sector confidence index remained unchanged from the previous month, maintaining its level at 113.8.
When analyzing the sub-indices of the sector, the business situation index for the last three months fell to 112.2, and demand for services decreased to 110.8.
However, demand expectations for the next three months painted a more optimistic picture, rising from 115.9 in January to 118.4.
Confidence Boost in Retail Trade The retail trade sector confidence index gained positive momentum in February, rising from 112.6 to 115.9.
Sector representatives' expectations for business volume and sales in the next three months recorded a significant increase, climbing from 121.5 to 126.4.
While the business volume and sales index for the last three months stood at 125.9, the current stock level was recorded at 95.4.
Decline in Construction Employment Expectations The most notable decline in the sector occurred in employment forecasts.
The expectation for the total number of employees in the next three-month period fell from 90.8 in January to 87.0 in February, reflecting a cautious stance in the industry.
