Turkey Achieves Top Performance in Science, Reading, and Math in PISA 2025

What is PISA 2025?
The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025, conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD), evaluates 15‑year‑old students from 91 countries on their abilities in science, reading, and mathematics.
Turkey's Performance Turkey scored 494 in science, 472 in reading, and 462 in mathematics, exceeding OECD averages of 482, 461, and 463 respectively, as well as the overall participant averages of 443, 420, and 429.
It is the only OECD country to have increased its scores in all three subjects between 2022 and 2025.
Factors Contributing to Success Over a 12‑year compulsory education curriculum, themes of human rights, democracy, and peace were integrated, raising the proportion of high‑performing students while reducing the number of low‑performing ones.
Official Reactions "I congratulate our teachers, students, parents, and the education community for the success that reflects the importance we place on education," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.
"Turkey is the only OECD country to have significantly improved in all three areas during 2022‑2025," Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin added.
International Recognition Turkey’s achievements were highlighted at the OECD’s PISA 2025 Regional Meeting in Bratislava.
