Weekly Opening and Index Performance Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the new week with a 1.13% increase, reaching 14,092.16 points.
The index rose by 158.11 points compared to the previous close, settling above the critical 14,000-point level.
Sectoral Performance All sector indices gained value at the start of the week.
The banking index rose by 1.40%, while the holding index increased by 1.01%.
The most notable increase was seen in the mining sector, which climbed 2.44%.
Global Markets and Geopolitical Risks Global markets are moving under the shadow of new U.S.
trade policies and rising geopolitical tensions.
President Donald Trump’s tariff decisions and potential increases are triggering trade war concerns.
Additionally, tensions between the U.S.
and Iran are among the factors limiting risk appetite.
Market Agenda and Technical Levels Analysts noted that the domestic data agenda remains quiet, while durable goods and factory orders data from the U.S.
will be closely monitored.
Statements from European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde are also in focus for investors.
Technically, the 14,100 and 14,200 point levels are seen as resistance for the BIST 100 index, while 13,800 and 13,700 points are considered support levels.
