Sectoral Performance and Divergences Among sector indices, the banking index rose by 1.55%, lifting the market, while the holding index lost 1.01%.
The financial leasing and factoring sector was the day's top performer with a 5.51% increase, whereas the transportation sector saw the sharpest decline at 5.00%.
Increasing geopolitical risks on the US-Iran axis brought selling pressure, particularly to aviation sector stocks.
Global Markets and Economic Data In global markets, investor focus turned to the minutes of the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.
Domestically, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed that the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 points to 8.2% in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter.
Technical Outlook and Expectations Analysts noted that domestic housing sales, the consumer confidence index, and short-term external debt stock will be monitored tomorrow.
Internationally, Eurozone current account balance and US trade balance data are of significance.
From a technical perspective, the BIST 100 index faces resistance at 14,400 and 14,500 points, while support levels are positioned at 14,100 and 14,000 points.
