New Regulation for Children Driven to Crime Justice Minister Akın Gürlek has made significant announcements regarding the 12th Judicial Package and new digital projects, which include fundamental changes to the judicial system.
Minister Gürlek stated that the definition of "children driven to crime" (SSÇ) will be updated.
The work, carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Family and Social Services, is expected to be brought to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) by summer.
Referring to practices in Europe, Gürlek noted that the age limits for criminal responsibility and the scope of the definition for children are being re-evaluated.
The regulation also aims to increase the effectiveness of the fight against disinformation and cybercrime on digital platforms through identity verification measures.
AI-Supported "Alo Adalet" Hotline A project called the "Alo Adalet" (Hello Justice) hotline is being implemented to allow citizens to receive quick information about judicial processes.
The system, which will initially launch as a pilot in Istanbul, will be supported by artificial intelligence.
Citizens will be able to submit their questions regarding judicial processes through this hotline via telephone, email, and CIMER.
The system aims to identify deficiencies in the judicial process and increase service efficiency through AI support.
