Call to the International Community in Geneva Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Ağabekyan addressed the international community during the 61st session of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Ağabekyan stated that Israel systematically violates international law and the UN Charter, asserting that a colonial order is being imposed on the region through armed force.
Systematic Violations and Impunity Expressing that Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip reflect a deep disrespect for international resolutions, Ağabekyan argued that the ongoing state of impunity paves the way for new crimes.
The Minister pointed out that Israel continues its policies of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and forced displacement.
Demand for Two-State Solution and Concrete Steps Emphasizing that a just peace is only possible by ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state based on a two-state solution, Ağabekyan called on the international community to move beyond messages of condemnation.
The Minister stated that deterrent and concrete steps must be taken to force Israel to comply with the law, warning that annexation steps are being accelerated through the expansion of illegal settlements and land seizures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
